The Hunger Games
Read the Hunger Games. My interest went only so far as the first few chapters. Hard for me to imagine their world. I wanted more history about how the districts came to be. But for a teenage sci-fi it was an okay story. Not one of my favorites. I'm sure I'll watch the movie. Not sure who else is reading the book or if we'll even have a discussion about specific things. I did think the Cornucopia was a little out of place. But, it was nice also to see a throwback to Greek Mythology. I had a hard time imagining a huge gold horn as a backdrop to all the destruction. So if there is anyone out there who would like to delve into some literary discussion about the said, Gold Horn, I am all ears. The symbolical implications of the horn may well be worth a discussion. Any thoughts on the matter?
